Your Africa, a division of Tourvest Destination Management, has appointed Nanette Raath (pictured here) to the position of Sales Executive. Raath’s core focus is the company’s customer base in Scandinavian countries, and this month will see her kick-starting her new position with sales visits to clients in Holland and Belgium. Raath joins the company after two and a half years at T.E.A.M, having successfully handled sponsorship activations for both the FIFA Confederations Cup and the FIFA World Cup 2010. She has a great passion for the African bush, having previously worked in the Timbavati Game Reserve.
Nelson Rodrigues is the newly appointed Resident Manager of the Mount Nelson hotel. Rodrigues joins the Mount Nelson after several years at Bushmanksloof Wilderness Reserve in the Cederberg Mountains. The property was voted ‘Best Hotel in the World’ by the readers of Travel & Leisure magazine in 2009 while he was General Manager.
Andreas van Breda has been appointed restaurant and bar manager for the recently opened Planet Restaurant at the Mount Nelson hotel. Van Breda spent the last seven years at London’s Claridges Hotel. There, he was responsible for the Foyer and Reading Room restaurant, lounge and bar.
David Frandsen who is the executive manager of Cape Town and Western Cape Convention Bureau, will take on the role as board chair of BestCities Global Alliance for the next 12 months. He will provide the professional and strategic leadership of the alliance, and will work with Natasha Tomé (Head of Marketing & Communications, Dubai Convention Bureau) and Lisa Altieri (Associate Vice President Business Development, Puerto Rico Convention Bureau) in their respective roles as Chairs of the Management Committee and Sales Group in 2011. In tandem with their efforts, Frandsen will communicate a future vision for the alliance and oversee the overall development of its strategic plan.
