Ipic Properties has acquired Country Hotels, an established hospitality group operating 16 hotels and lodges across the Western Cape and Northern Cape. The acquisition marks Ipic’s expansion from retail property into hospitality and extends its footprint into the Northern Cape.

Country Hotels will retain its name, managers and staff with longstanding COO Craig Carmichael as CEO.

“Country Hotels has built a strong presence in the communities it serves and continuity will be important as we move into this next phase,” Carmichael said. “Our focus will be on strengthening that foundation, investing in the guest experience and maintaining consistently high standards across the portfolio.”

Country Hotels has 638 rooms across 16 properties:

Ipic was founded in 2004 and owns 10 retail properties in the Western Cape.
