The Future Convention Cities Alliance has accepted the Durban KwaZulu Natal Convention Bureau’s application to become a member of its marketing alliance.

The membership will help the province to improve the current operations of its convention bureau and the broader business tourism community in the metropolitan area of Durban and KwaZulu Natal.

James Seymour, interim CEO of the Durban KZN Convention Bureau, said: “There is no doubt that destinations of the like of London, Sydney, San Francisco, Seoul, Abu Dhabi and Toronto have achieved significantly in the realm of business tourism destination management.”

Seymour believes that business tourism requires alliances such as the Future Convention Cities Alliance to provide a pool of experience relating to meetings that have already been hosted by its members and that can serve as useful leads and support for the future bids of its members.
